Focus on children

We always look to our approved adopters first when finding families for our children.

Our priority is to match children with families who can meet their needs and help them thrive. By working closely with our approved adopters, we gain a deep understanding of your strengths, hopes and what you can offer. We meet regularly to discuss every child waiting for adoption so that we can identify the right match quickly and carefully.

Our focus is on creating stable, loving futures, one family at a time.

Our partnerships

Working together to support families in Buckinghamshire

Buckinghamshire Council is proud to partner with Parents and Children Together (PACT), a well‑established adoption charity, to deliver adoption services across the county.

This partnership forms part of the Department for Education’s national programme to regionalise adoption services across England, helping to strengthen collaboration and ensure children and families benefit from shared expertise and consistent support.

Our teams have worked closely together to establish the new Buckinghamshire Adoption Partnership. By combining the best practice, experience and specialist knowledge from both organisations, we’re building a service shaped by the people who use it.

We actively listening to adopters, prospective adopters and adopted people, using their insights to guide the continued development of the partnership. This joint approach helps ensure we consistently deliver a supportive, responsive and forward‑thinking service that puts children and families first.
